Banquets and Events Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Banquets and Events Manager to lead their events team in Durban . This role is essential for coordinating and executing a wide range of events, from corporate functions to social celebrations, ensuring flawless delivery and exceeding client expectations. You will work closely with clients from initial consultation through to event completion, managing all logistical aspects and ensuring seamless integration with other hotel departments.

This position offers a blend of on-site event coordination and strategic planning, making it ideal for someone passionate about creating memorable experiences in the vibrant Kwa Zulu-Natal hospitality scene.

• Plan, organize, and execute all banquets and events, ensuring adherence to client specifications, budgets, and timelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process, providing expert advice and support.
• Coordinate with F&B, catering, AV, and other relevant departments to ensure all event requirements are met.
• Manage event staffing, including recruiting, training, and supervising banquet servers and supervisors.
• Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients to ensure service excellence.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event management, banqueting, or a related role within the hospitality sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in event planning software and standard office applications.
• A passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and a keen eye for detail.
