About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Catering Operations Specialist to manage and streamline catering processes from a distance, based in or near Stellenbosch . This role requires a proactive individual who can oversee logistics, manage supplier relationships, and ensure operational efficiency without being physically present on-site for every event. You will leverage technology and communication to coordinate with field teams, clients, and vendors, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across all catered functions, contributing to a seamless and positive client experience.

• Manage and coordinate the logistical aspects of multiple catering events remotely, ensuring all operational requirements are met.
• Liaise with clients to confirm event details, dietary needs, and special requests, translating requirements accurately for on-site teams.
• Oversee and manage relationships with external catering suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality and timely delivery of services and goods.
• Develop and maintain operational checklists, procedures, and reporting systems to track event progress and identify potential issues.
• Provide remote support and guidance to on-site catering teams, troubleshooting challenges and ensuring adherence to service standards.
• Monitor operational budgets, track expenses, and manage inventory remotely, optimizing resource allocation.

• Proven experience in catering operations management, event planning, or a related hospitality role, with a strong understanding of remote coordination.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using virtual collaboration tools, project management software, and standard office applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships effectively across distances.
