Catering Service Manager

Our client is seeking a results-driven and client-focused Catering Service Manager to oversee their premier catering services in the renowned winelands region of Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency for a diverse portfolio of events. You will lead a dedicated team of service staff, coordinate with culinary and logistics departments, and act as the primary point of contact for clients during events.

Manage and supervise all aspects of catering service delivery, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. Lead, train, and motivate the catering service team, fostering a culture of professionalism and high performance. Develop and implement service standards and protocols to ensure consistency and quality. Act as the main point of contact for clients on-site, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively. Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.

Oversee event setup, service flow, and breakdown, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications. Manage inventory of service equipment, linens, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock and proper maintenance. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with management on strategic planning, budget management, and operational enhancements.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in catering management, event management, or hospitality service management. Proven track record of successfully managing service teams and delivering high-quality event experiences. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision‑making skills under pressure. Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications. In‑depth knowledge of food and beverage service standards, safety, and hygiene protocols.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required. A passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities remotely.
