About Our Client
Our client, one of the fastest growing retail groups in Canada, is looking to add a Human Resources Manager.
About The OpportunityThe HR Manager will provide mentorship and guidance to a team of 5, focus on day‑to‑day HR operations, and be involved in special projects, including improvement projects, policy development and technology improvements. The role is primarily in‑office with one day of remote work per week, requires a valid driver’s licence, and may entail occasional travel to local retail locations.
About The Position- Supports all HR functions in the BC region.
- Supports, coaches, and advises Management on all HR related matters.
- Reviews and updates policies and procedures and implements new initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with local legislation.
- Leads HR functions such as performance management, return to work, employee relations, disciplinary action, engagement, benefits, and health & safety.
- Develops and implements training initiatives.
- Guides the HR Department with development and monitoring of HR metrics, reporting concerns and opportunities.
- 5 years of HR experience and 2 years in a leadership role.
- Post‑secondary degree in HR Management.
- CPHR is an asset.
- Experience with labour relations in a unionised environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of employment law and legislation.
- Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and influence decisions.
- Prior experience mentoring and leading developing HR professionals.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Flexibility to travel to retail locations across the lower mainland.
- Annual salary range $100,000 – $120,000 depending on experience.
