This is a remote position with occasional travel within 200 miles of Milwaukee, WI.
Description Summary of PositionThe Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for overseeing and delivering comprehensive human resources and talent acquisition services that support the organization’s operational and people-focused goals. This role serves as the primary point of contact for associates and leaders on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, onboarding, and recruiting. The Human Resources Business Partner ensures that HR policies, procedures, and practices are consistently applied and aligned with applicable employment laws, organizational standards, and best practices.
In partnership with leadership, the Human Resources Business Partner plays a key role in supporting a positive employee experience and a productive workplace culture. This position balances hands-on execution with thoughtful guidance, helping leaders navigate people related decisions while promoting engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Through collaboration, process development, and ongoing support, the Human Resources Business Partner contributes to organizational effectiveness and helps ensure the company’s workforce practices evolve in step with business needs.
This role supports associates and leaders across all departments and locations.
RequirementsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources & Employee Relations- Serve as the point of contact for HR policies, procedures, and employment matters
- Support benefits administration, leave management, and payroll functions
- Ensure timely and accurate HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance reporting
- Support compliance with federal and state employment laws and internal policies
- Provide guidance on performance concerns, corrective actions, and conflict resolution
- Support performance goal setting, feedback, performance improvement, and reviews
- Promote employee engagement/retention through collaborative support and coaching
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends related to turnover and employee feedback
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and practices
- Support annual compensation review to ensure internal equity and market alignment
- Manage full-cycle recruiting activities: sourcing, interviewing, and hiring coordination
- Partner with Program Managers to understand staffing needs, roles, and priorities
- Ensure recruiting and hiring activities comply with applicable employment laws
- Coordinate new offers, background checks, licensure verification, and onboarding
- Support onboarding processes to ensure a consistent, positive new-hire experience
- Track recruiting metrics to support workforce planning and retention strategies
- Build strong working relationships with associates and leaders across the organization
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, staffing, and organizational needs
- Support business development with strategic HR insight in partnership to leadership
- Support training and development related to hiring, onboarding, and management
- Ensure HR practices align with organizational values and operational goals
- Contribute to projects and initiatives that support organizational growth and efficiency
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and guiding principles of MJ Care
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in all interactions
- Promote continuous improvement and ongoing professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources and/or talent acquisition
- Exposure to employee relations, performance management, and HR operations
- Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization preferred
- Experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and common HRIS technology platforms
- Working knowledge of fundamental federal and state employment laws
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
- Ability to build trust and credibility with associates and leaders
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
