Human Resources Supervisor – HR Business Partners
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking HR Supervisor to lead a team of HR professionals in delivering high-impact services across the organization. This role is responsible for supervising daily HR operations, developing staff, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in employee relations, investigations, recruitment, compensation, and organizational development. This position also plays a key role in strategic HR planning, policy interpretation, and the delivery of citywide training and performance management initiatives.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of HR professionals and supervise daily HR operations.
- Develop staff and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
- Provide expertise in employee relations, investigations, recruitment, compensation, and organizational development.
- Contribute to strategic HR planning, policy interpretation, and citywide training and performance management initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Five years of professional-level HR or organizational development experience and at least one year of lead or management experience in people or projects.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during active employment, regardless of remote work eligibility.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required depending on department/section assignment.
Desired Qualifications- Certification from SHRM (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) and/or HRCI (e.g., PHR or SPHR) preferred.
- Excellence in communication, organization, collaboration, and client service, with a proactive approach to exceeding expectations.
- Ability to remain adaptable in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in a municipal or public sector setting is highly desirable.
Anticipated starting salary may be up to the mid-point depending on experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and the mid-point for this position is $ per year.
