About this RoleFiber Tel is looking for a Labor Compliance Specialist for our Springville, UT market.
The Labor Compliance Specialist supports labor compliance activities across the organization with a primary focus on public works requirements, apprenticeship compliance, and labor agreement obligations. This role partners with Payroll, Human Resources, Operations, and project teams to ensure labor compliance requirements are tracked, documented, and maintained in accordance with applicable laws and agreements.
What You ll DoResponsibilities:
- Coordinate and track labor compliance requirements for public works projects
- Track and document apprenticeship participation and utilization requirements, including apprentice ratios, requests, responses, and excusals for public works projects
- Maintain organized, audit-ready labor compliance files by project
- Track and verify required jobsite postings and labor notices
- Monitor labor law requirements across multiple states, including wage and hour standards, overtime rules, paid leave requirements, and final pay timing
- Review certified payroll documentation for completeness and documentation sufficiency
- Track subcontractor labor compliance documentation related to public works projects
- Track and support compliance with applicable union agreements, Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) provisions, including required reporting and documentation
- Exercise judgment in identifying labor compliance risks, determining appropriate escalation, and recommending corrective actions in partnership with HR leadership
Additional Duties May Include
- Supporting the development and maintenance of labor compliance procedures, checklists, and job aids
- Assisting with internal training or awareness related to labor compliance requirements
- Supporting compliance-related reporting and documentation requests
- Participating in process improvement initiatives related to compliance tracking and documentation
Qualifications
- Experience supporting labor compliance, regulatory documentation, or public works environments
- Familiarity with Davis-Bacon or prevailing wage requirements, including apprenticeship or training participation concepts
- Familiarity with union agreements, Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), or collective bargaining requirements in a compliance or documentation capacity
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across projects and jurisdictions
- Ability to work collaboratively with HR, Payroll, Operations, and project teams while exercising independent judgment
- 3 plus years of relevant experience
Working Conditions
This position is an in-office role performed in a professional office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and conducted at a workstation using a computer and standard office equipment. The role involves regular interaction with internal stakeholders through meetings, email, and other business communication tools.
