JOBSUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist supports Early Connections’ people strategy by providing second-level HR guidance, compliance oversight, and operational support across the employee lifecycle. Working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources, this role ensures HR practices are compliant, consistent, values‑aligned, and able to scale as the organization grows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Lead recruiting strategy, sourcing, and collaborate with marketing team on employment marketing
- Develop and maintain job postings and recruitment materials
- Partner with hiring managers to support effective, compliant hiring practices
- Support workforce planning efforts with leadership
- Oversee interviewing practices and training, ensuring hiring practices are consistent, equitable, and compliant
- Interpret and provide guidance on HR policies to managers and employees
- Recommend policy updates based on compliance requirements and organizational needs
- Oversee compliance audits and reporting
- Contribute to payroll preparation and serve as a back‑up payroll administrator
- Prepare HR reports and workforce analyses
- Ensure compliance with local and state employment laws
- Design and administer employee surveys and feedback tools
- Analyze employee engagement data and make recommendations for organizational improvement
- Support HR‑related communications and organizational initiatives
- Support internal talent development and succession planning
- Plan, coordinate, and lead the execution of Open Enrollment for benefits
- Oversee employee onboarding and benefits administration
- Maintain working fluency across all HR functions and step in as needed to ensure continuity, compliance, and operational effectiveness

This role is designed to grow with the organization. Based on performance and organizational needs, the HR Generalist may take on expanded leadership responsibilities, including potential supervision and advancement to a Director‑level role.
QUALIFICATIONS- 3‑5 years of progressive HR experience, including compliance and employee relations
- Working knowledge of federal and Colorado employment laws
- HR, Business Administration or related degree, or current HR certification
Prior to employment, candidates must:
- Federal, state and Colorado Department of Early Childhood clearance
- Complete a pre‑employment drug screening
- Verify employment history, education and relevant credentials
- Possess a valid driver’s license
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, typing, and the ability to climb stairs throughout a typical day. Occasional lifting of up to 25-30 lbs may be required.
TRAVEL AND REMOTE WORKMust be able to travel to other centers in Colorado Springs. Occasional remote working capability for this position is determined by employee’s supervisor
