The Bus Right Vision

We believe public education creates freedom, and that access to that education starts with a safe and reliable ride to school. That’s why we built Bus Right, a modern transportation platform trusted by hundreds of thousands of Transportation Directors, Drivers, and Parents across 36+ states to make school transportation safer, smarter, and more equitable.

Role Overview

Now more than ever, we recognize that Talent will have a disproportionate impact on the future of our business, as constantly evolving technological solutions make the human touch more important than ever. We’re ready to bring on board our first in-house Talent Acquisition Lead to identify the next generation of talent that will shape Bus Right and the student transportation industry.

As Bus Right’s Talent Acquisition Lead, you’ll create the systems, processes, and brand that power our next chapter by helping us attract, assess, and hire exceptional talent across every team. From GTM to Engineering, you’ll turn data and storytelling into a recruiting engine that’s scalable, human, and uniquely Bus Right.

This is an opportunity for someone who’s entrepreneurial, disciplined, and energized by the challenge of scaling a fast growing tech company by influencing its most important driver of success: its people.

In this role, you’ll:

Take the lead in building the recruiting tools and frameworks that will shape the future of Bus Right. You’ll partner directly with the CEO and his Leadership Team to define what great hiring looks like, craft a consistent and thoughtful candidate experience, and ensure Bus Right scales with the right people in the right roles at the right time.

You’ll design the connection between hiring managers, candidates, and our culture, so that every new Bus Righter embodies our mission and our belief that great people are the engine behind every mile on this journey.

Your Day-To-Day

  • Lead the full recruiting journey across every department, from the first outreach to the final offer, ensuring every candidate experience reflects our core tenet of magical hospitality.
  • Partner with department heads to define excellence for each new role, building structured, thoughtful hiring processes that help us move fast without sacrificing quality.
  • Build and maintain pipelines that keep us ahead of our hiring needs, nurturing relationships with exceptional talent even before new roles exist.
  • Create the recruiting infrastructure (e.g., tools, metrics, and rituals) that keeps our hiring transparent, efficient, and deeply aligned with our values.
  • Design a candidate experience that feels personal, purposeful, and unmistakably Bus Right.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Leadership to bring Bus Right’s employer brand to life through storytelling, events, and creative outreach that show who we are and why people love working here.

About You

  • You’ve spent 5-7 years helping venture-backed, high-growth technology companies attract and hire great people.
  • You’ve hired across every corner of the org (e.g., GTM, Product, Engineering) and you love figuring out what makes someone not just qualified, but value-added to the organization
  • You thrive in ambiguous situations and know how to operate in the “grey area” between problems and processes. You don’t require prescriptive direction and are motivated by the opportunity to propose novel solutions to challenges others haven’t yet addressed.
  • You’ve built (or rebuilt) recruiting playbooks, interview scorecards, and candidate experiences that feel thoughtful and human. You’re just as comfortable mapping a hiring strategy as you are jumping into a sourcing sprint.
  • You communicate clearly, think systematically, and use strong judgment to make critical decisions.
  • You’re creative and entrepreneurial. You’d rather develop bespoke solutions than run the same play as the other team.
  • You’re tech-savvy and focused on relentless personal development, recognizing that technology only amplifies the importance of human capability.
  • Most of all, you’re humble, curious, and down to earth. You care about people, education, and building something that matters - and you want to help Bus Right grow by finding the kind of teammates who care just as much.

This is a chance to join a fast growing technology company early and make your mark on a territory and a team that’s transitioning how millions of students access their education every day. If you're energized by growth and driven by relationships we’d love to hear from you.

We’re a remote team with hubs in New York City, Boston, Austin, and Poland. To get a feel for the team and culture, check out our company retreat in Mexico, this Bus Right commercial, and how we approach school bus conferences.
