Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 annually

Location: Hybrid/local position. Must work in Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.
The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is a role responsible for supporting the agency’s people operations with a primary focus on HR Generalist responsibilities, while also owning and executing full cycle recruiting and workforce coordination efforts.
This role serves as a key partner to the Head of HR and works closely with the HR and Operations Team to ensure HR processes are accurate, compliant, well-coordinated, and scalable. The Human Resources Generalist acts as a trusted resource for employees, managers, and candidates, delivering a consistent, detail-driven, and people-first experience across the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations and HR-related inquiries.
- Own and maintain employee data, records, and documentation within the HRIS.
- Support and administer employee benefits in partnership with payroll and vendors.
- Manage HR policy development, updates, and ongoing compliance efforts.
- Manage the performance review and employee development processes.
- Partner with leadership on employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives.
- Stay current on HR laws, regulations, and best practices across all states of employment.
- Assist with training and development as needed.
- Provide operational, administrative, and project support to the Head of HR.
- Own and execute full cycle recruiting for assigned roles, from intake through offer.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, priorities, and timelines.
- Coordinate job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, and candidate communications.
- Maintain accurate and compliant recruiting records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Build and maintain proactive candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Lead the Simantel Internship Program, offered year-round.
- Manage college and university relations, including job postings, career fairs, and ongoing outreach.
- Collaborate with the HR Operations Team to ensure smooth onboarding transitions.
- Track hiring activity and provide regular updates and insights to HR leadership.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency and candidate experience.
- 3+ years of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Highly motivated, self‑starter mindset with strong ownership of work.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive HR matters with discretion.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Solutions-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate needs.
- Comfort balancing hands‑on execution with thoughtful process improvement.
- Ability to learn, adopt, and consistently use HR systems and tools.
- Professional presence and positive approach when working with employees, leaders, and candidates.
- Availability to support occasional before or after core-hour events (less than 10%).
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management (preferred).
