As a Principal Compensation Analyst at Donaldson, you will lead compensation projects and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders mainly supporting North America but may have some global driven initiatives. This person must be able to influence and advise leadership, build efficient processes, and provide practical solutions to complex compensation challenges. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington, MN office.
RoleResponsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for North America compensation programs, leading the design and governance of annual compensation processes including salary structures, rewards cycles, budgeting, and pay transparency initiatives.
- Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Finance, and senior leaders to influence compensation decisions and drive consistent, data-driven outcomes.
- Create and present clear, concise presentations to assist senior leadership in making informed compensation decisions.
- Develop executive-ready insights, tools, and models to support strategic decision-making, including advanced analytical frameworks and automation solutions.
- Partner with multiple departments to streamline and support compensation processes within Workday HCM, focusing on optimization and accuracy.
- Own job evaluation judgments for North America, ensuring accurate alignment with the company's job architecture and compliance with FLSA, EEO, and pay transparency regulations.
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments impacting compensation, translating requirements into scalable policies, governance, and Workday design standards.
- Create and maintain compensation policies, procedures, and training materials to support both the North American and global Total Rewards teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of compensation experience
- 3+ years of professional experience with a large organization/company.
- Compensation experience within the manufacturing sector and expertise in broad-based compensation.
- Strong knowledge of compensation tools as well as North American compliance, including FLSA, EEO, and Pay Transparency.
- Experience working within global job architecture frameworks and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience with compensation and market benchmarking tools such as Mercer, Market Pay, and Workday.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to influence and communicate complex compensation information effectively to executives and leadership.
- Proven experience supporting compensation structures for sales teams.
Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Annual Salary Range: $103,. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
This position is eligible for annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth.
