HR & Recruitment Coordinator
Exciting opportunity in the insurance industry for an experienced HR professional with a background in recruitment operations and background checks. This hybrid role in Waterloo offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment, the chance to support North American HR functions, and exposure to platforms like Workday and Hire Right.
What is in it for you:
• Hourly salary of $25-26, based on experience.
• 12-month contract.
• Full-time position: hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
• In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
• Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to the Talent Acquisition team in managing background check processes.
• Initiate and track background checks, coordinating with candidates and third-party vendors.
• Serve as a point of contact for background check inquiries via the global HR inbox.
• Assist new hires throughout the onboarding process.
• Coordinate information sharing with other HR departments to ensure consistency.
• Support special projects related to recruitment operations and background checks.
• Collaborate with the broader HR operations team as needed.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree is considered an asset, particularly in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years of HR experience, preferably in recruitment, background checks, training, or administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using background check platforms;
Hire Right experience strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic setting.
• Excellent time management with ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Workday is an asset.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset, as this role may involve communicating with candidates and internal teams across Canada and supporting a bilingual onboarding process.
