Are you a detail-oriented professional with strong customer service skills? The University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator. The HR Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the HR processes run smoothly and UAS employees and departments receive timely, accurate support.
The ideal candidate is proactive and willing to learn, with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in HR processes. They are comfortable using technology, pay close attention to accuracy, and follow through on tasks to completion. Above all, they bring professionalism, reliability, and a customer service approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a first point of contact for employees and applicants, providing courteous and professional customer service
- Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings and onboarding coordination
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation processes
- Assist with personnel actions, and general HR transactions
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and HR-related documentation
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment regulations
- Collaborate closely with HR team members and other departments to support HR initiatives
Success in this position requires attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to work collaboratively while also managing independent responsibilities. A positive attitude, professionalism, and a genuine interest in supporting employees and organizational goals are key to long-term success.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma. Some college coursework in Human Resources preferred.
Position DetailsThis is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
