Niyam IT is seeking a Part‑Time Recruiting Assistant to join our team. This position is remote and will require candidates to reside in a HUBZone certified area. This position is for 10 hours a week. If you are looking for a few extra hours a week this may be the job for you.
Role and Responsibilities- Work remotely 10 hours per week between the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.
- Identify appropriate candidates and assess their qualifications through review of their resumes, interviews, and other forms of communication.
- Schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- Connect qualified candidates with Talent Acquisition Manager.
- Maintain contact with candidates to keep them apprised of the status of their applications.
- Vet potential employee credentials.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior‑level HR staff or management.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assist with the development and revision of specifications and job descriptions for selected positions.
- Provide clerical support to the Talent Acquisition Team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must live in a HUBZone certified area.
- Associate’s degree in a related field required.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or willing to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Proficient with or willing to quickly learn applicant‑tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Proficiency in remote work environments.
Education and Experience
- Experience supporting recruiting, HR, or administrative functions.
