Impact

The Payroll, HRIS & Benefits Lead is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of U.S. and Canadian payrolls, HRIS configuration and data governance, and administration of company benefits programs. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for payroll operations, HRIS functionality and enhancements, and benefits administration—ensuring compliance, accuracy, employee support, and continuous improvement. This role will also partner with leadership across HR and Finance to design scalable total rewards programs that support talent and organizational growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities Payroll Management
  • Oversee all payroll activities across U.S and Canada, ensuring timely delivery of payments, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage time keeping systems for non-exempt employees including review of submitted data for completeness, accuracy, and proper manager approval.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between LBBS and our third-party payroll provider, and problem solve when concerns arise.
  • Timely filing of quarterly and year end forms including registrations.
  • Manage payroll audits; resolve and provide guidance on complex payroll tax issues.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee year-end tax forms including 1095, W2s, Rl1s, and T4.
  • Provide guidance on complex payroll issues and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and provincial regulations.
HRIS Administration
  • Acts as the system subject matter expert and drive configuration updates, workflow improvements, and system enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all HR systems.
  • Develop and deliver reports on payroll trends, costs, and compliance through system analytics dashboard.
US Benefits Administration
  • Ensure accurate administration of US health, retirement, and wellness programs; act as point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Oversee annual benefits open enrollment, life change events, and ongoing benefits support.
  • Partner with vendors to resolve benefit-related issues and maintain compliance.
  • Own EEO1 Reporting, Workers Comp audit reporting, and 401k audit.
  • Ensure proper invoicing, billing, and post payroll funding.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA).
  • Partner with HR leadership on benefits communication and engagement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years related experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in processing payroll and state laws.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
