Our People Advisory Services department in Diegem is looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to reinforce our HR Legal team. While Diegem would be your main office, working from home or from our other offices in Antwerp, Ghent or Hasselt is also possible.
HR Legal is providing strategic advice and comprehensive support to our clients on a wide array of (international) employment matters. We assist multinational companies with their cross-border employment set-ups and help them navigate the regulatory (international) social security and labor law landscape by providing tailor‑made advice, assist with international assignment planning, drafting the required documents, assisting with all compliance matters in close collaboration with the tax and immigration teams.
YourKey Responsibilities
- You will provide assistance with the following topic’s:
- International and National Social Security:
Advising clients in the context of cross‑border employment set‑ups and the applicable social security legislation, including assistance with all compliance obligations. Advising on the individual social security rights and benefits, including effects of cross‑border employment. - International Employment Law: advisory and implementation of salary splits, secondments within EEA and abroad, assignments, international policies.
- National Employment Law:
Consulting and drafting of employment agreements and policies, payroll and social documents, dismissal, etc. Assisting and consulting on the legal aspects of compensation and benefit structures (e.g. agreements around changes to salary packages, implementation of new benefits or work structures, etc.) - Assistance with social inspections and performing due diligence in the framework of merger and acquisitions.
- Assist the engagement manager in the organization of the client work and in keeping oversight on the volume and quality of the work of our junior consultants.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
You have:
- A master’s degree in law & preferably an additional degree in Social Law.
- At least 3 years of experience in Social Law, preferably in a similar function
- Excellent written and verbal communication in French. Next to that, you are fluent in English. A good understanding of Dutch is an additional benefit.
- You want to become a trusted business advisor and an expert in national and international social security and labor law.
