Payroll Specialist Part-Time

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Payroll Specialist for a dynamic and mission‑driven organization committed to operational excellence and employee success. This part‑time role is fully remote and offers a 4–6 month contract working 20 hours per week.

The Payroll Specialist will manage accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role will maintain payroll records, address employee questions, and support leadership with reporting and audit preparation. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and committed to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

• Process payroll on schedule, ensuring accuracy for all employees
• Review timesheets, wage calculations, and deductions for correctness
• Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll systems
• Address payroll‑related questions from employees promptly and professionally
• Prepare payroll reports and support leadership with financial documentation
• Assist with payroll‑related transactions, including benefits deductions and garnishments, and support audits as needed

• Experience managing payroll processing with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in payroll platforms (experience with Paylocity preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with payroll compliance requirements and reporting processes
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new systems
