JOB PURPOSE

The HRIS Specialist is a key member of the HR team and will report to the Director of Total Rewards & HRIS. This role is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of HR information systems, primarily Dayforce, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficiency across all HR processes. The Specialist leverages data and system functionality to enhance automation, reporting accuracy, and decision-making across the organization.

As a member of the HR department, this role will work cross‑functionally with other team members and will require a high level of teamwork and collaboration. Working collaboratively across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT, the Specialist manages data collection, analysis, and system optimization within Dayforce. The role also provides limited support in areas of Total Rewards (benefits, compensation, wellness, and reporting).

This is a hybrid/remote position that will report to the Baie D'Urfe, Canada office 3x/week.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES System Optimization & Configuration
  • Serve as a Dayforce subject matter expert (SME), responsible for analyzing, configuring, and optimizing system functionality across HR, Payroll, and Total Rewards modules.
  • Create and maintain positions, jobs, departments, and reporting hierarchies within Dayforce.
  • Support the implementation of new Dayforce modules, enhancements, or system add‑ons as requested by the organization.
  • Continuously assess existing workflows and configurations to identify automation opportunities, streamline processes, and improve data flow across JAM and Almo.
  • Conduct end‑to‑end testing (UAT) of configuration changes and system enhancements, validating functionality and data accuracy before deployment.
  • Monitor Dayforce release updates, assess new functionality, and adoption plans with HR leadership.
  • Maintain detailed system documentation, including configuration maps, data flows, and version histories.
  • Maintain and update Dayforce Hub content for JAM and Almo, ensuring timely posting of HR communications, policy updates, and company news.
  • Ensure that all configuration changes comply with data governance, system security, and organizational policies.
User Roles, Access & Security
  • Manage roles and system access across the organization to ensure users have appropriate permissions in Dayforce.
  • Grant, modify, or revoke user access as needed and maintain audit logs.
  • Unlock accounts, resolve MFA or login issues, and manage access requests.
  • Review and update security roles regularly to align with organizational changes and segregation‑of‑duties principles.
Data Feeds & Integrations
  • Collaborate on the design and setup of data feeds, imports, and exports, ensuring proper mapping, format compliance, and secure data transfer.
  • Maintain and monitor data feeds between Dayforce and external systems (benefits carriers, payroll, finance, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot integration errors and ensure timely and accurate data transmission.
Reporting & Data Validation
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc monthly and quarterly HR reports from Dayforce.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
  • Validate data accuracy and reconcile reports before distribution.
  • Provide HR reporting support to internal stakeholders as required.
Documentation & Training
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and training documentation for Dayforce.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR and manager users on system functionality and data entry standards.
  • Assist with projects as required.
