Under the direction of the Human Resources Operations and Classification & Compensation Manager, the Human Resources Analyst (HR) provides vital daily administrative and workflow support to both the HR Operations and Classification & Compensation units.
Job Duties- Perform a variety of HR Operations and Classification & Compensation entry-level responsibilities
- Maintain the main Human Resources phone line
- Contribute to small and mid-sized special HR projects
- Attend all required training sessions
- Assist with new employee orientation when needed
- Order supplies
- Generate reports and collect data as required
- Serve as backup for preparing and distributing identification badges
- Provide backup support for HR analysts as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- General principles and practices of Human Resources
- Office practices and procedures in an office setting
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Share Point
- Business English, including correct sentence structure and punctuation
- Methods/techniques for data gathering and summarization
- Demonstrating professional telephone etiquette in all communications
- Responding to a wide range of inquiries and situations with accuracy and diplomacy
- Consistently providing high-quality customer service
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Examining a variety of personnel documents
- Managing time and organizing tasks efficiently, especially when handling a high-volume of documents
- Researching, analyzing, and solving problems
- Composing correspondence using proper format, spelling and language
- Generating reports
- General understanding of the principles and methodologies involved in salary analysis
- Managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Manage responsibilities effectively in fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
- Learn, understand, and adhere to the Arizona Department of Administration policies and procedures
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Apply lean and change management methodology to daily tasks and standard work
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Adapt to continuously changing and improving work environment
- Establish and maintain effective communication with HR office contacts statewide
- Collaborate with others to accomplish common goals and tasks
- Develop skills in analytical reading and assessment
The selected candidate must have two years of administrative support experience in a human resources office.
Pre-Employment RequirementsThe ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply:
