Job OverviewContemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Accounting Analyst to join our client to support accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance reporting within a dynamic and collaborative accounting team. This individual will manage payroll operations, ensure data accuracy, and reconcile key accounts while serving as a trusted partner to HR and Finance. The ideal candidate will be detail‑driven, analytical, and capable of navigating complex payroll systems to uphold precision and integrity in all financial and benefits processes.
Compensation$65,000 – $75,000/year
Work ScheduleMonday through Friday, normal business hours | Hybrid in Newark, DE (work from home on Fridays after training)
Key Responsibilities- Manage Payroll Operations: Oversee the full payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees, including calculations for wages, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
- Administer Benefits Programs: Coordinate and maintain employee benefit plans, reconcile monthly invoices, and manage 401(k) funding and compliance requirements.
- Reconcile and Report Financial Data: Prepare journal entries, reconcile payroll and benefits accounts with the general ledger, and generate reports for management and audits.
- Ensure Compliance and Data Accuracy: Maintain current knowledge of payroll laws, benefit regulations, and tax requirements while safeguarding confidential employee data.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, enhance efficiency, and maintain streamlined payroll and benefits processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits administration, or accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll laws, ERISA guidelines, and benefit compliance standards.
- Hands‑on experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, or Paycom.
- Advanced Excel skills with a strong aptitude for data validation and reconciliation.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and commitment to accuracy in all processes.
