Overview

The Benefits Representative provides assistance in enrollment, communication, and administration of employee benefits. This full‑time, hourly (non‑exempt) position is located at Hobby Lobby’s corporate campus and reports to the Benefits Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Process health, life, LTD, and Flexible Spending benefits elections and changes
  • Process changes in status and special enrollment events for benefits
  • Assist with online enrollment system design and audits
  • Generate and process weekly Flexible Spending reports and audit
  • Assist and respond to life insurance and LTD claim inquiries
  • Process and respond to Qualified Medical Child Support Orders
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits for the Health Plan
  • Problem‑solve with employees and third‑party administrators
  • Understand and interpret plan documents
  • Distribute benefits packets for newly eligible employees
  • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned
  • Required work on weekends, as needed
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of experience in Benefits (preferred)
  • Knowledge of 401(k), ERISA, HIPAA, and Health Care Reform regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills – web‑based systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with HRIS (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to de‑escalate difficult situations
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or equivalent related experience
Schedule
  • Not a remote position
  • Department hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm (½‑hour lunch) or 8:00 am–5:00 pm (1‑hour lunch)
  • Evening and/or Saturday work may be required at times
