The Kansas Judicial Branch is seeking a relationship‑driven, people focused professional to serve as our HR Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator. This role blends strategic outreach and recruitment to build awareness of career opportunities and strengthen connections across districts statewide. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, curious, and energized by engaging with a diverse workforce to meet operational needs.
Employment DetailsThis is full‑time, in‑person work with statewide travel, supporting judicial and non‑judicial staff across 31 Districts, 105 counties and more than 100 courthouses. Hybrid remote work may be available with prior approval and structured to support in‑person engagement. The position reports to the Human Resource Manager and works closely with the Chief Human Resource Officer, hiring managers and court administrative leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the judicial branch as an employer of choice through professional engagement with schools, community organizations, workforce groups and online platforms.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with judicial district leadership and hiring managers to understand evolving workforce needs and hiring priorities across the state.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop effective job postings and recruitment plans that align with local and statewide workforce needs.
- Lead outreach initiatives to increase awareness of judicial branch careers, including attending career & job fairs, high school and college events, and community engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate and attend recruitment events, informational sessions and hiring initiatives across the state.
- Develop and execute statewide recruitment strategies that align with district‑specific needs.
- Source and attract candidates using a variety of methods, including job boards, social media, networking and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain a strong, diverse candidate pipeline to meet both immediate and future hiring needs.
- Optimize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment workflows to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, psychology or a related field.
- Prefer 3–5 years of professional HR experience.
- Ability to travel with some overnight stays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and event‑planning expertise.
- Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and social media recruiting.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate in the human resource space and thorough knowledge of human resources systems and techniques and their practical application.
- Demonstrated effective leadership in program management and modern office procedures and practices, including computer training and experience.
- Ability to accurately maintain online informational systems such as One Note or SharePoint.
- Demonstrated curiosity in innovative solutions to create and sustain excellent employment experience for judicial branch staff agencies, businesses, and the public.
- Demonstrated effective leadership in human resources programs.
- Demonstrated ability to create, maintain and thrive in a harmonious work environment.
- Knowledge of the general rules and regulations of the judicial systems.
- Knowledge of the general policies and practices of judicial budget procedures.
