Who We Are Looking For
Slate is seeking a technically fluent, business-minded HR Operations Partner to join our growing HR Operations team as we scale across our headquarters, manufacturing, and commercial sites. This role is the systems and process backbone of the employee lifecycle, ensuring accurate, timely execution of Workday transactions, position and organizational structure management, and data-driven HR service delivery from a new hire's first day forward.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Workday practitioner who is as comfortable configuring supervisory organizations and job profiles as they are partnering with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to solve operational problems. You bring sharp analytical instincts, a high bar for data integrity, and the judgment to apply policy consistently while escalating nuance appropriately. You spot the process and system improvements others miss, and you turn HR data into insight that leaders can act on.
What You Get to Do
Workday Configuration, Position & Organizational Management
- Own end-to-end position management in Workday - create and configure positions and contingent positions (including those originating from ZIP and requisition requests), validating role IDs against the adaptive roster to ensure accuracy.
- Build and maintain job profiles in partnership with the Compensation team, ensuring correct alignment to compensation structures and job profile grades and levels.
- Establish and configure supervisory organizations and reporting hierarchies that accurately reflect an evolving org structure.
- Execute manager reassignments and move open requisitions across supervisory organizations based on HRBP direction.
- Process cost center updates and reorganizations at the request of Finance, HRBPs, or HR leadership.
- Update open requisitions, adjust job profile levels, and assign reference IDs across both manufacturing and non-manufacturing populations.
- Create recruiting agency records and user profiles in Workday, provision Talent Acquisition with secure access credentials, and assign recruiting security roles post-confirmation.
- Facilitate Workday training orientation for all non-manufacturing new hires and interns, setting the tone for a positive, consistent first-day experience.
- Execute the full range of lifecycle transactions in Workday from hires, job changes, transfers, inline promotions, compensation changes, manager changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding, with timeliness and accuracy.
- Complete and verify I-9 / employment-eligibility documentation, issuing proactive follow-up reminders to new hires to ensure compliant, on-time completion.
- Manage the contractor-to-employee transition including ending contingent worker contracts and create full-time positions for converting workers, coordinating start dates with Talent Acquisition.
- Hire agency and contingent workers (e.g., People Scout) to requested start dates and confirm downstream system access and role assignment.
- Adjust hire dates, and rescind or correct new hire transactions in Workday, at the request of the Talent Acquisition team.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employees and managers on HR programs, policies, and procedures.
- Safeguard the integrity of employee data in Workday through ongoing validation and proactive auditing.
- Develop, run, and interpret custom Workday reports and metrics dashboards on request from HR leadership, Finance, HRBP team and Business Units, translating data into actionable insight for stakeholders.
- Audit remote-worker records to confirm home and work address alignment and reconcile remote location accuracy across the system.
