Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Legislative Administration is seeking a skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join the Employee Services team. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional with knowledge of the Workday payroll system, Paid Leave Oregon/Franklin Online, Public Employees’ Benefit Board programs, and the Public Employees Retirement System.
Job OverviewAs a key member of Employee Services, the successful candidate will directly support employee satisfaction, retention, and trust by ensuring employees receive accurate, timely, and compassionate support throughout their employment journey. The position is a full‑time, continuing role located at the Oregon State Capitol and offers a hybrid work schedule with opportunities to work remotely as business needs allow.
Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for payroll, benefits, and special leaves questions, providing clear, reliable, and timely guidance.
- Support payroll processing and benefits administration with a keen eye toward accuracy and precision.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governing regulations, rules, and wage and hour laws.
- Contribute to the culture of operational excellence by upholding standards of employee service.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with the Workday payroll system and public employee benefit programs.
- Full medical, vision, and dental coverage.
