About the RoleThe Internship Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing and supporting The Huntington’s internship programs, including those funded by the institution and by third‑party organizations. The position plays a key role in ensuring a positive, inclusive, and productive experience for all interns, while also aiding recruitment efforts across the institution.
This is a 12‑month, full‑time opportunity ideal for someone passionate about education, professional development, and building inclusive pathways into cultural institutions.
Essential Duties- Coordinate internship opportunities across the institution by gathering internship requests from participating divisions and ensuring internship descriptions align with The Huntington’s values and requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, Advancement, and third‑party organizations regarding internship placements and grant notifications.
- Track internship start and end dates, conduct onboarding and off‑boarding, and provide administrative support to ensure a smooth internship experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with external institutions that offer or support internship opportunities.
- Monitor intern progress, gather feedback from interns and mentors, and assess and report on program effectiveness.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to candidates and hired interns, addressing questions or concerns as they arise.
- Coordinate professional development programming, such as workshops and events, in collaboration with speakers and staff across the institution.
- Moderate and maintain the Linked In group for current and former interns, sharing career opportunities and networking events.
- Maintain proper filing of recruitment materials including notes, internship descriptions, reference and background checks.
- Support the Huntington recruitment process, including Linked In postings, processing hires, processing p‑card verification, and posting positions on relevant job boards.
- Provide office and administrative support as needed, including answering employee inquiries.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, program coordination, or related administrative work highly preferred.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and follow‑through skills.
- Self‑starter who thrives in independent and collaborative work environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Preferred:
Experience with Workday. - Preferred:
Spanish fluency.
Indoor shared office setting with moderate noise levels. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits- Pay Rate: $26.00/hr.
