Position Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor on the University Recruiting team, you are responsible for implementing the organization’s recruiting strategy by sourcing and attracting interns and new graduate candidates. You’ll focus on building relationships with managers to recruit early career talent in several engineering and/or construction groups across Kiewit markets.

Location

This position is based out of Denver, CO, Houston, TX or Lenexa, KS and is part of a shared‑service center in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities
  • Screens candidate resumes and conducts interviews to assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitude.
  • Plans and executes on-campus recruiting activities such as career fairs and/or info sessions and partners with operational front-line recruiters for prospect and candidate management.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of the business to ensure talent identified aligns with the right opportunities based on business demands and candidate preference.
  • Executes the recruiting process end-to-end while effectively utilizing the process, systems and tools in place.
  • Conducts in-depth intake meetings with leaders to ensure alignment on position, impact and expectations while providing market insights and education.
  • Works with hiring managers on requisition approvals, rehire issues and internal/external postings.
  • Leverages and maintains recruiting technology platforms to drive accuracy of candidate records, activity status and provides weekly reports to management.
  • Assesses applicant/candidate quality, skills and fit to identify the best candidate for a position.
  • Negotiates with candidates against counter‑offers.
  • Possesses knowledge of the market and supply for talent within a particular job function.
  • Connects external employment market conditions with internal workforce demands to ensure proper pipelines of talent are identified early to fill critical business needs such as universities or other organizations.
  • Comprehensively understands the business strategy and connects it to a talent strategy.
  • Develops sourcing strategies and partners with other Talent Advisors as needed to implement these strategies to meet current staffing needs.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in full‑lifecycle recruiting in a fast‑paced environment for similar industries (preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel overnight throughout the US and/or Canada.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Base Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 (actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skill set and/or location).
