Where You Will Work

This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% remote and is based out of Naperville, IL;
Mankato, MN;
Lakeville, MN; or Sun Prairie, WI.

The Contributions You Will Make

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the compensation programs, including communication and training. The responsibilities include conducting analysis on internal and external salary data, evaluating jobs to determine classification and salary, ensuring compensation practices are in alignment with organization policies and guidelines, and being competitive with the market. Serves as a compensation resource for all team members and leaders.

Supports the Total Rewards team by administering different compensation and rewards programs, as needed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with department leaders and HR partners to complete job analysis and evaluation on new and revised positions.
  • Draft, edit, and update job descriptions and evaluate FLSA status and salary grades.
  • Participate in salary surveys to benchmark company compensation programs and conduct market pricing using survey sources, scope criteria, and job matches.
  • Analyze market practices and recommend adjustments such as pay range changes, merit, and equity adjustments.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to recommend compensation packages for job offers, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on routine compensation decisions and policy interpretation.
  • Assist in design and administration of variable compensation programs, including incentive and commission plans.
  • Collaborate with finance reporting teams on variable compensation accruals, updates, measures, calculations, and results.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and manuals for all variable compensation processes.
  • Monitor effectiveness of existing compensation policies and recommend plan revisions.
  • Assist in annual salary increase planning and execution.
  • Develop communication tools and materials to enhance understanding of total compensation practices.
  • Create reports and deliver regular and ad‑hoc reports to leadership; analyze historical data for insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing compensation practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of compensation or HR analytics experience, including handling confidential data.
  • Professional compensation or HR certifications (SPHR, PHR, CCP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of FLSA and compensation‑related federal, state and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of general industry compensation practices.
  • Strong client service focus, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to make data‑based recommendations.
  • Tact, diplomacy and good judgment, especially under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management.
