We’re actively searching for our next Human Resources Manager to manage the Human Resources department at our distribution center in Rensselaer, IN
. This key leadership role at this facility must be able to strategically lead, manage, facilitate, connect, and build relationships with our personnel and the surrounding community. You will manage a small team, lead Human Resources for approximately 260 employees, and be a strategic partner for the Plant Director and Corporate HR team. Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Rensselaer, IN facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead HR support at a large distribution center.
- Responsible for developing and implementing employee relations practices and strategies, including the following: employee engagement, wage and salary administration, selection and staffing, orientation and training, organizational development, performance management succession planning and conflict resolution.
- Influence, coach and provide guidance to the plant leadership team and employees regarding HR practices, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset that understands the organization’s goals and strategies; can effectively translate this direction into strategic and operational people practices.
- Partner with Operations leadership and other key stakeholders to drive HR and operational strategies.
- Responsible for leading investigations and proposing any related corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for the entire site.
- Lead HR‑related projects and initiatives both within the site and the broader HR Organization.
- Manage a team of one HR professional.
- 8+ years of progressive human resources experience
- 2+ years of human resources management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience working in a distribution center environment
- Human Resources certifications are ideal (i.e. SCP – Senior Certified Professional)
- Master’s degree in HR‑related discipline
- Excellent knowledge of Human Resources practices; working knowledge of HR related laws and regulations
- Possess knowledge of management; the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management
- Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and negotiation skills
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of others
- Experience conducting employment related investigations
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand the business context and strategy
- Ability to effectively work on multiple assignments, while responding to frequent interruptions and changing priorities
