Role Description The HR Manager role at Mercure is a part-time hybrid position based in Manama, with flexibility for some work from home. The HR Manager will oversee day-to-day HR operations, including managing employee life cycle activities such as onboarding, performance reviews, and offboarding. This role will coordinate recruitment processes, support workforce planning and partner with leadership to address staffing needs.

The HR Manager will maintain HR policies, ensure compliance with local labour regulations, handle employee relations issues and support initiatives that promote an inclusive, high‑performing work environment. Additional responsibilities include managing HR documentation and systems, preparing HR reports and metrics and contributing to training, development and engagement programmes.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage core HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and compliance with applicable labour laws and regulations.
  • Strong skills in HR administration and data management, including use of HRIS or similar systems and preparation of HR reports.
  • Proven communication, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
  • Capability to plan and coordinate training, development and engagement initiatives that support organisational goals.
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on‑site responsibilities in Manama with remote work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in an HR generalist or HR manager role, ideally within hospitality or service‑oriented organisations.
