Job Overview

Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations Transitions – manage employee exits for Remote’s external employees with a focus on legal compliance and client service. The role provides first‑level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating resources when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring a superior offboarding experience for clients and employees.
  • Provide guidance on HR matters such as termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
  • Facilitate meetings with clients and external employees (e.g., workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, settlements) and deliver termination outcomes.
  • Negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, balancing stakeholder interests.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and audit readiness (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions).
  • Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Process offboarding on Remote’s internal HRIS platform, collaborating with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, and other verticals.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert for offboarding queries in partnership with Lifecycle stakeholders.
  • Navigate clients through Employee Relations resources and guides, explaining policies and processes.
  • Conduct preliminary workplace concerns assessments, identify facts, and determine applicable local regulations.
  • Coordinate handling of employee relations matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support clients in understanding progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow‑up with stakeholders.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements, automation, product development, and overall customer and employee experience through offboarding and employee relations processes.
Key Qualifications
  • Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies and employee‑lifecycle exposure.
  • Strong background in managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, conduct research, and provide practical solutions in ambiguous environments.
  • Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict‑management, and negotiation skills; capable of leading difficult conversations to positive outcomes.
  • Advanced written and spoken English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
  • Drive to innovate and optimize processes, identify automation opportunities, and champion best practices.
  • Strong operational efficiency, record‑keeping, and data integrity awareness.
  • Tech‑savvy, able to collaborate asynchronously on tools and adapt to new systems.
  • Autonomous and cohesive in a fast‑paced, asynchronous, remote international team with multiple priorities; flexible hours as needed.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated automation and AI fluency.

Annual salary range: $37,250 – $83,800 USD.
