Payroll & Benefits Specialist, BEDO Brands

If you’re someone who enjoys accuracy, organization, and supporting people through clear processes, you will feel right at home here. BEDO Brands is growing, and we are adding a new early career role to our HR team. This Payroll and Benefits Specialist position is ideal for someone who is just beginning their HR path and wants to build strong experience in payroll operations, benefits coordination, and employee support.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with one or two years of HR or administrative experience who knows they enjoy process driven work and wants to develop deeper expertise in payroll and benefits.

This hybrid role includes three days each week working in our Burlington, WI office and two days each week working from home.

What You’ll Support Payroll Coordination
  • Assist with bi weekly payroll for employees across multiple entities.
  • Review hours, wages, and deductions.
  • Help maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Troubleshoot basic payroll concerns and partner with HR leadership when needed.
  • Support compensation updates and workflows in Paylocity.
  • Track bonus payouts and coordinate with Finance.
Benefits Coordination
  • Help employees with enrollments, changes, and questions for medical, dental, vision, and our Unique Benefits Package.
  • Communicate with vendors and carriers to ensure accurate information and smooth processes.
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation and routine audits.
  • Support annual open enrollment planning and materials.
  • Help track PTO and assist with year end reviews.
  • Coordinate surveys and feedback for our Unique Benefits Package.
Retirement Plan Support
  • Process bi weekly contributions in Paylocity and Betterment.
  • Assist employees with contribution updates and enrollment questions.
  • Help prepare materials for quarterly enrollment meetings.
  • Support annual testing and compliance tasks.
Leave & Compliance Support
  • Coordinate documentation and communication for FMLA, ADA, personal leave, and similar programs.
  • Help employees understand steps and timelines.
  • Maintain compliance records and organize required paperwork.
  • Assist with parental leave outlines and guidance.
Employee Support & Communication
  • Provide timely, helpful support for payroll and benefits questions.
  • Help create and deliver employee education materials.
Reporting & HR Support
  • Run payroll, benefits, and compliance reports.
  • Assist with internal audits and process improvement projects.
  • Help gather compensation and job market data for expansion research.
Compensation Support
  • Assist with collecting market data for compensation studies.
  • Help prepare recommendations and materials for HR leadership.
  • Support pay equity reviews by maintaining accurate records.
Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience
  • Help manage recognition programs in Paylocity.
  • Assist in reviewing feedback from surveys and interviews.
  • Support engagement efforts across all BEDO Brands companies.
HRIS Administration
  • Maintain and optimize Paylocity.
  • Ensure clean data and accurate reporting.
  • Automate workflows and improve HR tech adoption.
  • Manage permissions, integrations, and system governance.
Requirements What You Bring
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • One year of HR, payroll, benefits, or administrative experience is helpful but not required. Internships count.
  • An interest in developing expertise in payroll, benefits, and HR operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow through.
  • A service oriented mindset with the desire to support employees with kindness and clarity.
