The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) provides applied behavior analysis services to individuals with autism across the United States. CARD is headquartered in Sacramento, CA and offers remote positions.
Position OverviewHuman Resources (HR) Assistant – Remote, CA – $19.00 hourly. The HR Assistant reports directly to the HR Manager and supports day‑to‑day operations of the HR department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Represent CARD in a professional and ethical manner.
- Support adherence to all HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in HR initiatives, meetings, trainings, and work products.
- Research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain background screening and onboarding compliance for new employees, covering additional areas as needed.
- Conduct initial orientation for newly hired employees and follow up on outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I‑9 Employment Eligibility Verification and audit I‑9 exception reporting.
- Communicate clearances, certification, and credentialing status to business partners.
- Process all unemployment notices in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor assigned email inbox and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and employee documents.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
- Perform reporting, research, audits, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in an administrative role preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work full‑time during normal business hours.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Typical remote office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
Physical Requirements- Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the day.
- Ability to use and speak on the phone or via teleconference as needed.
