2. This position performs a variety of clerical and technical human resource duties, providing essential support to the office. This position supports talent acquisition and human resource operations for PennDOT Engineering District 9-0. Work includes coordinating seasonal programs, keeping key processes on track, and supporting related operations. As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Coordinate Program Hiring:
Coordinate recruitment and hiring activities for winter maintenance, summer interns, and permanent positions; partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and track process timeliness - Complete Hiring Processes:
Prepare requisitions, review referrals, schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and process hiring actions in the database; assist with onboarding and employment eligibility verification - Perform HR Transactions:
Process and review actions such as promotions, separations, reclassifications, and supervisory changes; assist with maintaining electronic personnel files - Provide Customer Service:
Respond to inquiries, generate reports, and assist with recruitment events - Support Internal Processes:
Coordinate and track timeliness for programs such as job shadowing, temporary work out of classification assignments, position description maintenance, role mapping, and employee performance reviews - Ensure Compliance and Quality:
Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and that processes are completed accurately and efficiently

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the Engineering District 9-0 office in Hollidaysburg, Blair County. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
