The RoleThe Succession Planning Advisor will help strengthen the organization’s future readiness by leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Succession Management Framework. This role will support critical and hard‑to‑fill positions through evidence‑based talent strategies aligned with organizational priorities. Working in partnership with HR Business Partners, leaders, and enterprise stakeholders, the Advisor will develop practical approaches to identify talent risks, assess readiness, strengthen succession pipelines, and support meaningful development planning.
The role will also lead the configuration, optimization, and use of Workday functionality for succession planning, using talent pools, readiness assessments, potential evaluations, and workforce data to inform strategic decisions.
- College diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Development, or a related field.
- Significant experience in human resources or a related field.
- Conducting talent reviews with senior leaders.
- Developing succession pipelines and readiness assessments.
- Planning, administering and coordinating training and development programs, including workshops, leadership sessions, and cross‑functional planning meetings.
- Configuring and optimizing Human Capital Management (HCM) modules, such as succession planning.
- Interpreting policies and procedures.
- Project management.
- Translating business strategies into enterprise‑level initiatives.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers and clients.
- Working with Human Resources (HR) systems, analytics and employee data.
- Configuring and utilizing Workday modules (an asset).

Other InformationThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
