Hybrid Job: This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.
What you'll do
Provide leadership, guidance and direction to hiring managers and TCHC staff on recruitment practices and proceduresProvide guidance to TCHC staff on corporate policies, procedures and collective agreements related to recruitmentLiaise with human resources staff in relation to employee staffing changes, payroll documentation, orientation and on-boardingCreate strategies to maintain qualified pools of candidates in advance of needResearch and recommend new sources for candidate recruiting including online resourcesInitiate and develop relationships with hiring managers to uncover needs for vacant positionsReview resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirementsCoordinate interviews at all phases of recruiting process including phone interviewsManage the offer process, through negotiations and contract preparationMaintain proactive communication with candidates and provides effective feedback and coaching to internal applicantsPerform a variety of administrative functions including the maintenance of recruitment files and preparation of various correspondence and employment lettersPrepare and present recruitment statistics and reports, including analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and improve time to fill metricsInitiate and implement mass hiring campaigns for seasonal and operations positionsWhat you'll need
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, public administration, or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Human ResourcesA minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources administration with an emphasis on recruitmentExperience working within a unionized setting and interpreting collective agreement language as it relates to internal recruitment and transfersExpert communication and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of staff, managers, bargaining agent representatives and candidatesCHRP designation (or in progress) would be considered an assetDemonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines and standards including but not limited to the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents ActWorking knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and HRIS would be considered an assetExperience working in a large corporate environment would be considered an assetHighly-developed analytical and problem solving skillsWhat’s next
