Position: Success Coach - Future Forward CT

Future Forward CT partners with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), an accredited private college, to offer personalized coaching to students in high‑quality, online, project‑based degree programs. Future Forward CT is committed to delivering a strong academic experience, flexible coursework, and a supportive community to help students complete their degrees more quickly.

Its model emphasizes graduating with little to no debt for learners of all ages, from recent high school graduates to adult learners.

Role Description

The Success Coach - Future Forward CT is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Hartford, CT, with some flexibility for work from home. The Success Coach will provide individualized coaching and guidance to students, helping them navigate online, project‑based degree programs and remove barriers to academic progress. Daily responsibilities include conducting regular check‑ins with students, supporting goal setting and time management, and connecting learners to appropriate resources for academic, career, and personal support.

The role also involves tracking student milestones, documenting interactions, collaborating with SNHU and Future Forward CT staff, and contributing to a positive, inclusive student community. The Success Coach will use data and feedback to adjust coaching strategies and ensure students stay on track toward timely graduation.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
  • Candidates should possess customer service skills focused on responsiveness, empathy, and relationship‑building with diverse learners.
  • Candidates should possess student counseling skills to support academic planning, motivation, and problem‑solving.
  • Candidates should possess career counseling skills to help students explore pathways, set career goals, and prepare for employment.
  • Candidates should possess education‑related knowledge or experience, such as familiarity with college advising, online learning, or student success initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse, nontraditional, or first‑generation college students is highly beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills, comfort with technology and online platforms, and the ability to manage a caseload of students in a hybrid work environment.
