Job Summary
The Recruiter, Nursing & Allied is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, screening, and placing healthcare professionals into travel and contract assignments nationwide. This role builds and maintains relationships with nurses and allied clinicians by understanding career goals, assessing qualifications, and matching talent to client workforce needs. The Recruiter serves as a trusted advisor throughout the recruitment lifecycle, providing market insights, assignment guidance, compensation discussions, and ongoing engagement to deliver an exceptional candidate experience while meeting business performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Development
Generate a consistent pipeline of qualified nursing and allied healthcare professionals through outbound recruiting, sourcing, networking, referrals, phone outreach, email campaigns, and database searches. Develop and execute recruiting and marketing strategies to attract passive and active candidates. Maintain daily and weekly activity metrics to grow clinician networks and support assignment placements.
- Candidate Assessment & Qualification
Conduct phone interviews and consultative recruiting conversations to evaluate clinical experience, licensure, certifications, skills, availability, and assignment preferences. Assess candidate readiness and likelihood to accept travel opportunities based on qualifications, timing, mobility, and overall fit. Identify candidate motivators, career goals, and professional aspirations to recommend appropriate opportunities.
- Relationship Management & Candidate Experience
Build long‑term relationships with clinicians through proactive communication and ongoing engagement. Educate candidates on travel healthcare opportunities, market trends, compensation packages, assignment expectations, and AMN Healthcare benefits. Guide clinicians throughout the recruitment process from initial contact through placement and assignment completion.
- Recruiting Operations & Collaboration
Maintain accurate and complete candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS), including contact information, qualifications, licensure documentation, certifications, compliance requirements, and activity notes. Present qualified candidates to Account Managers and collaborate on client openings, candidate submissions, interview preparation, and placement strategies. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely candidate submissions and successful placements.
- Offer & Negotiation Management
Discuss and negotiate compensation packages, assignment details, and employment terms. Address candidate concerns and objections while aligning opportunities with career goals and market conditions.
- Education
Associate Degree and 0–2 years of professional experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2–4 years of professional experience.
- Experience
- Experience in recruiting, staffing, sales, customer service, account management, or relationship‑based consultative roles.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Experience utilizing recruiting technology, CRM systems, ATS platforms, or candidate databases.

Compensation and BenefitsPay Rate: $19.50 – $24.25 hourly (final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location). This position may include additional compensation such as bonus or commission.
