Director of Human Resources

Drive Social Media is one of the fastest-growing advertising technology companies in the country. Born out of necessity to provide the best return on investment for our partners, Drive has developed a cloud-based advertising management platform to achieve better campaign results and transparency while improving advertising efficiencies to stimulate revenue growth.

The Director of Human Resources is the senior HR leader responsible for building and executing the people strategy at Drive Social Media. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership, overseeing HR operations, employee relations, compliance, benefits, performance management, HR systems, workforce planning, and employee engagement across all states where the company operates.

This position will oversee the design and integration of HR systems, manage and administer benefits and compliance programs, including 401(k) administration and multi-state employment requirements, and partner with senior leadership to align people initiatives with business goals.

Location Requirement:
This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence Monday through Thursday, with remote work available on Fridays. Candidates must be based in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, culture, and retention initiatives.
  • Independently manage HR operations, employee relations, compliance, benefits, performance management, employee engagement, and recruiting support. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and outside vendors/counsel as needed to deliver excellence across all areas.
  • Translate business objectives into HR strategies that support company growth, employee retention, operational consistency, and a strong employee experience.
  • Support talent acquisition strategy in partnership with leadership and recruiting team members to ensure hiring plans align with workforce needs and company growth.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, development, employee engagement, retention, and offboarding.
  • Act as a trusted advisor in employee relations, balancing employee needs with organizational goals.
  • Ensure HR policies and processes are clear, consistent, compliant, and effectively communicated.
  • Support change management efforts by helping execute communication plans, training rollouts, and process updates as directed by leadership.
  • Support full life cycle recruiting as needed, from sourcing and screening through offer and onboarding.
  • Lead benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely and accurate benefits communication to employees.
  • Oversee 401(k) administration, audits, compliance filings, and employee education.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
  • Manage state registrations and ensure compliance with multi-state employment requirements.
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and practices in line with employment law.
  • Partner with legal and external counsel as needed to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant recordkeeping, reporting, and audits.
  • Oversee HRIS system integration, upgrades, workflow optimization, and adoption across the HR team.
  • Ensure employee data accuracy, proper system use, and efficient HR processes.
  • Use analytics to track HR metrics, forecast workforce needs, and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Present actionable insights and workforce reports to senior leadership.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen culture, recognition, engagement, and retention.
  • Oversee company-wide events, recognition programs, and engagement surveys.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, legal compliance, and multi-state HR practices.
