The Recruiting Specialist, Early Careers is responsible for executing Murphy USA’s early-career talent strategy through university partnerships, campus recruiting initiatives and Analyst Development Program hiring. This role serves as the primary ambassador for Murphy USA on college campuses, cultivating relationships with key university stakeholders, elevating our employer brand and attracting top emerging talent to develop early career talent pipelines.
In addition, the position provides proactive sourcing support across the broader Talent Acquisition function, developing talent pipelines for critical roles and partnering closely with recruiters and hiring managers to deliver exceptional candidate experiences and strong hiring outcomes.
Note: This role is based out of our Home Office in El Dorado, Arkansas and is in-office four days per week. Relocation assistance may be available to highly qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities University Relations & Campus Recruiting- Manage and grow Murphy USA’s university relations program, building strong partnerships with targeted colleges and universities.
- Serve as the primary liaison with career services, faculty and student organizations, cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships that create a competitive advantage.
- Plan and attend university career fairs, campus events, information sessions, networking opportunities, etc.
- Develop and execute campus recruitment strategies to attract diverse, high-quality early-career talent.
- Promote Murphy USA’s employer brand across university channels and events.
- Design and manage new, sustainable internship and early career programs, including conversion strategies, to support long-term talent pipelines and reduce hiring risk.
- Track and report on university recruiting metrics (conversion rates, offer acceptance, ROI).
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for Murphy USA’s Analyst Development Program.
- Partner with Enterprise Analytics leaders to understand talent needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Manage the candidate lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and offer negotiation.
- Track and analyze hiring metrics to continuously improve program outcomes.
- Support recruiters by proactively sourcing candidates across multiple channels to build and maintain talent pools for hard-to-fill roles (Linked In, job boards, referrals, etc.).
- Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to align on candidate profiles and sourcing strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system.
- Promote our culture by sharing our employee value proposition (EVP) messaging consistently across all recruiting touchpoints.
- Deliver a positive, engaging candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
