Role Description

The Human Resources Associate is a full-time, hourly, on-site role based in Kodak, TN. The HR Associate is responsible for administering hourly payroll, attendance, timekeeping, and a variety of Human Resources functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. This position provides administrative and operational support to the HR/GA department, serving as a key resource for Team Members and management.

The role also serves as the primary bi-lingual resource by providing accurate written translation and verbal interpretations between English and Spanish to support effective communication for their respective facility.

  • Process and administer all aspects of hourly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain the electronic timekeeping system, resolve timekeeping exceptions with supervisors, and ensure accurate attendance and payroll records.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, including PTO, EPTO, FMLA, military leave, jury duty, and other leave programs.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute payroll, attendance, and HR-related reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies for the General Administration office.
  • Support the HR team with recruitment, orientation, onboarding as necessary.
  • Support the HR team with benefits, compensation, HR policies, and other HR programs as necessary.
  • Support employee relations initiatives by responding to Team Member inquiries and promoting positive working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Provide written and verbal translation and interpretation services between English and Spanish for Team Members, supervisors, and management.
  • Translate HR documents, policies, training materials, benefit communications, disciplinary documentation, and other company communications while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support communication between English/Spanish during meetings, investigations, orientations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety policies.
  • Assist with special Human Resources projects and initiatives.
  • Support company events, employee engagement activities, and recognition programs.
  • Cross-train and provide backup support for other Human Resources functions.
  • Assist other departments as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma/GED required;
    Associate's degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of payroll, Human Resources, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience using payroll, HRIS, and electronic timekeeping systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) required.
  • Experience translating employment-related documents and providing verbal interpretation in a professional setting preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • KANBAN systems knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Suite

This role is ON SITE. Telecommuting/Remote work is unavailable.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
