HR Generalist
We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This is a great opportunity for a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys supporting employees throughout their lifecycle and contributing across a variety of HR functions. In this role, you'll partner with the HR team on recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, training, workforce reporting, and other key HR initiatives. The HR Generalist reports to the HR Manager and assists the HR Business Partner to deliver an exceptional employee experience and support organizational goals.
ADay in the Life of an HR Generalist
As an HR Generalist, you will support the full employee lifecycle while serving as a resource for employees and managers. You will help ensure smooth daily HR operations, maintain compliance with federal contractor requirements, and provide responsive, people focused service. Daily activities may include:
- Recruiting duties to include sourcing for candidates, initial phone screens, setting up interviews with managers, and communication with candidates.
- Facilitating onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation.
- Maintaining HR records, reporting, and compliance processes.
- Assisting with employee inquiries and connecting staff to HR resources.
- Maintaining and administering company-wide trainings through the Brainier Learning Management System (LMS).
- Maintain and administer the company's employee recognition platform, Kudoboard.
- Assisting with employee events and engagement initiatives.
- Preparing, analyzing and maintaining workforce reports, providing data-driven insights on HR metrics to support business decisions.
- Ensuring adherence to federal contractor regulations and internal HR standards.
- Supporting managers throughout the full employee lifecycle by guiding them through HR form completion, validating accuracy of submitted information, coordinating approvals, and processing final changes while maintaining organized, compliant documentation.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar HR role.
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and employment law compliance.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, and supporting employee lifecycle processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, Lever or other Applicant Tracking Systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to independently manage priorities in a fast paced, multisite environment.
- Ability to work in office 2 days a week and attend meetings and events as needed.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional ability to move or transport items up to 25 pounds.
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with appropriate visual and auditory capability for tasks and safety.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and maintain focus in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and professional standards.
- Work is performed primarily in a professional office and/or remote home office environment under typical conditions.
