Pay Range $63,000 - $65,000

Job DescriptionThe Temporary Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM) reports to the Associate Director of Talent Management as part of the Talent Management team within Syracuse University’s Office of Human Resources. This temporary role will support talent acquisitions functions across the team, including but not limited to: managing full life-cycle recruitment for assigned vacancies, sourcing candidates, completing screening interviews, maintaining the applicant tracking system, assisting with hire processes for faculty, temporary and bargaining unit candidates, and supporting community outreach and career event initiatives.
The position is expected to last 3-6 months, with a possibility of future full-time work.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, business, communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years of recruiting experience within a fast-paced organization. Superior ability to influence and persuade internal stakeholders and external candidates.
Skills and KnowledgeCandidates with Higher Ed, employment agency, or corporate recruiting experience are preferred. Experience utilizing social media tools for recruiting purposes is strongly desired. A commitment to and track record of creating diverse candidate pools. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively. Proficient with MS Office and technology tools and the desire to use the Internet, social media, and sourcing to recruit.
Ability to influence hiring authorities and develop relationships with hiring, internal human resources teams, and candidates; ability to understand job requirements and identify those in candidate resumes and one‑on‑one interactions. Be organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated with the ability to multi‑task and work in a deadline‑driven environment. Possess a strong sense of urgency as part of the daily work style. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
A keen ability to identify recruitment blind spots and recommend forward‑thinking solutions to improve staffing issues. Proven experience in capturing and reporting recruiting data analytics.
Utilize innovative outreach and engagement strategies to ensure that our applicant pools reflects the University’s goal of being “Welcoming to All.” The TAM will be a champion for the University’s overarching diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives.
