As a Career Advisor with the Pennsylvania Career Link Philadelphia Suburban Station, you will help people discover their strengths and plan for successful futures. This role gives you the chance to work closely with jobseekers and employers to build strong career connections. You will inspire others to make informed decisions and take important steps forward. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position supports jobseekers and employers by providing guidance, assessments, and workforce information. It helps individuals connect with resources and build the skills needed for employment success. As a Career Advisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Workforce Knowledge:
Maintain knowledge of workforce development programs, policies, and procedures - Career Guidance:
Conduct assessments and provide direction to help jobseekers make informed decisions - Counseling Services:
Plan and deliver individual and group counseling on job search topics - Case Management:
Coordinate career goals, plans, services, and follow-up activities using a case management approach - Labor Market Information:
Provide current labor market information and assist users with PA Career Link online enrollment - Employer Services:
Support employers by analyzing needs, coordinating recruitment, and proposing hiring strategies

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) training program; or
- One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor’s degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
