The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for full cycle HR tactics supporting our Upstate and Downstate New York regions while supporting company goals and employee relations. This position reports directly to the HR Business Partner supporting the assigned regions and works in close partnership to support HR priorities and business needs.
Schedule:
9am-5pm EST, Monday - Friday
Location:
While primarily a remote position, the employee must be located or planning to relocate to the Upstate New York Region (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, etc.). There is the potential for travel to New York City for team meetings approximately one to two times a year and to visit offices and/or acquisition related support in the region.
Job Responsibilities
Employee relations full-service support including being present for and/or conducting disciplinary conversations, investigations, and terminations as needed
General benefits knowledge
HRIS support and information management
Compliance related activities such as ensuring ongoing regulations and certifications are met
Recruitment support when needed
Coordination of any employee leaves in conjunction with HR leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation and company policies
Staying aware of any employment and case law that may directly impact the regional supported
Provide high-level customer service to both internal and external customers
Regularly review compensation to ensure FLSA compliance
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Review and create internal policies and procedures to ensure smooth and thorough best practices
Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
Assisting with other HR projects and initiatives as needed
HR Generalist Qualifications4-5 years’ experience in the Human Resources field preferred. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a Generalist required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
