THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) is seeking to fill our agency's Time Advisor position. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Key responsibilities as a Human Resource Assistant 2 include:

  • Time and Attendance Administration:
    Ensure accurate processing of time, attendance, schedule change, and other transactions; research and resolve issues; and generate and monitor reports
  • Program Coordination:
    Help supervisors and managers ensure accurate and timely completion of EPRs and onboard new employees; oversee supplementary employment requests and tracking; and assist other HR program coordinators as needed
  • Personnel File Maintenance:
    Prepare, upload, and certify a variety of electronic records to OPFs; follow all records retention procedures and policies
  • Customer Assistance:
    Provide policy, procedure, and technical advice to managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Receptionist Duties:
    Greet customers, answer and direct telephone calls and email inquiries as appropriate, handle incoming mail, and help keep office equipment maintained and supplies stocked

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
  • A work schedule beginning and ending between 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, inclusive, with a half‑hour or one‑hour unpaid meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements.
  • Telework:
    You may have the opportunity to work from home (hybrid telework schedule) part‑time, up to three days per week, depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
