You'll serve as a trusted resource for team members and leaders while partnering with HR leadership to evaluate programs, identify opportunities, manage risk, control costs, and create a better employee experience.

What You'll Own:

    • Lead administration of leave programs, including FMLA, STD, and LTD leaves of absence.
    • Advise employees on benefit eligibility, leave requirements, and related questions.
    • Develop clear, engaging benefits and leave communications, including FAQs, notifications, presentations, orientations, and benefit materials.
    • Evaluate existing benefits, leave policies, and wellness programs and recommend improvements to HR leadership.
    • Analyze self-insured medical plan costs and identify opportunities for employee engagement and cost containment.
    • Partner with HR Business Partners to address benefits and leave questions and concerns.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure benefits and leave programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Maintain working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, paid leave laws, and applicable IRS reporting requirements.
    • Complete required census, auditing, reporting, and compliance activities.
    • Stay current on changing regulations and help minimize organizational risk.
  • HR Business Partnership
    • Build effective relationships with employees, leaders, and HR colleagues across the organization.
    • Provide HR guidance and interpretation on employee relations matters when needed.
    • Support fair, consistent, and legally compliant people practices.
    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives focused on employee engagement, satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
    • Support onboarding, benefits enrollment, payroll processes, employee separations, and other HR activities as needed.
    • Provide management training and coaching on a variety of people-related topics.
Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, plus 5+ years of HR experience, preferably with a strong concentration in benefits and leave administration — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits and leave administration.
  • Experience with self-insured medical plans is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of applicable benefits and leave regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with HRIS, benefits systems, and Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to explain complex benefits and leave requirements in a way employees and managers can understand.
  • Exceptional confidentiality, judgment, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and confidently figure things out in a dynamic environment.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, influence decisions, and drive positive change.

Preferred Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or another benefits-related certification.
