General Summary
Under general supervision, leads the HR and EHS strategy for NASG in North America (including Mexico) that will be aligned with and support the business plan for NASG. Provide overall direction in every functional area of HR including Environmental, Health, and Safety. Work as a strategic partner with the Executive Staff to achieve the overall vision and mission of the company.
Oversee the strategy development, planning, organization, implementation, direction and administration of various HR & EHS functions. Responsible for standardization, conformity, and accountability of HR & EHS policies and procedures across all facilities and to develop and lead significant programs that maximize recruitment, performance management, and training & development.
Essential Job Functions
Develop the strategies and provide leadership in the implementation of the consolidation of policies, compensation systems, training and development, communication plans, associate surveys, retirement planning systems, welfare benefits, safety, environmental and security, best practices for all NASG facilities.
Ensure standardization of HR & EHS policies and procedures across all plants.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance.
Assess and anticipate HR/EHS-related needs and seek to develop integrated solutions.
Manages HR/EHS budget and countermeasures variances to budget versus actual.
Provide leadership in developing and executing HR/EHS strategy in support of overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession and progressive planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.
Restructure the HR/EHS functions to provide best in class services to all NASG associates.
Coordinate and strategize with the NASG facility management teams the implementation of the business plan.
Develop and maintain HR & EHS policies and procedures throughout organization.
Align HR & EHS objectives with company objectives.
Partners with executive management to develop appropriate strategies for associates regarding associate relations, disciplinary action, operations, and performance issues.
Provide strategic leadership by articulating HR/EHS needs and plans to executive management.
Provide leadership and direction in the design, development and implementation and completion of numerous processes and systems to ensure associates are trained and developed.
Develop organizational development tools systems and processes to create highly motivated associates at NASG.
Develop/improve overall training program to ensure maximization of associates' talents and abilities.
Lead and implement significant programs and processes across organization, such as progressive planning, succession planning, performance management, and associate development.
Improve and increase apprenticeship programs and training.
Investigate implementation on the NIMS training and certification program.
Oversees training and development function.
Coordinate with all NASG companies to ensure positive associate relations and best practices leadership.
Act as company change agent and foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
Responsible for annual associate satisfaction survey at all locations, including coordinating, implementing, interpreting, and corrective actions.
Provide overall leadership and guidance to HR & EHS function across all locations.
Leads the HR/EHS teams and sets the standards for performance and accountability.
Support all NASG companies on general human resources and EHS issues.
Formulate partnerships across the HR/EHS functions to deliver value-added service to associates at all levels that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
Builds strong relationships and provides quality HR/EHS service to plant operations, technical center and home office.
Informs and educates staff about Human Resources policies, procedures, performance management, recruitment/labor planning, and associate relations issues.
Performs site visits to understand key HR/EHS issues impacting plant operations.
Conveys local, state, and federal laws to field to maintain compliance.
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with plant HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Lead activities to attract, retain, and reward associates.
Design and implement pay systems and structure for hourly and salaried associates.
Ensure data is collected to ensure we are competitive in compensation.
