THE CHALLENGE AND THE OPPORTUNITY

A child's earliest years shape every milestone that follows: school success, workforce readiness, and economic opportunity. We are creating an ecosystem of the highest quality child care in the communities that need it most, so Houston gains a stronger and better skilled future labor force.

WHAT Collaborative for Children does

We help more young children enter kindergarten curious, confident, and ready to learn.

WHAT you will do

If YOU have been the person who develops HR strategy in the morning, coaches a manager through a challenging employee relations issue in the afternoon, and processes an offer letter, benefits issue, or onboarding task before the end of the day, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications
  • The HR Director will be required to seamlessly shift between executive-level planning and hand-on HR execution while supporting a mission-driven organization committed to excellence and impact.
  • What makes this opportunity unique is that unlike many HR Director positions, we require an HR leader who is both strategic and an HR practitioner.
  • You must be comfortable being the primary (and, only) HR resource while collaborating with executive leadership, general management, employees, external vendors, and the Board’s HR Committee.
  • You will work hands-on with ALL aspects of HR – starting with managing the Candidate Experience and continuing into all aspects of cultivating an optimal Employee Experience, inclusive of a top-notch culture for a dispersed workforce of approximately 37 employees.
  • You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, as well develop and maintain policies, procedures and employment practices that reduce organizational risk.
  • You will evaluate and administer compensation and benefits programs, as well as the performance management and talent development processes.
  • You will champion organizational values and employee engagement initiatives to foster a work culture that promotes collaboration, respect, innovation, and continuous improvement.
