Overview

Nexus-Woodbourne Family Healing is looking for a dynamic Human Resources Manager to join our location in Baltimore, MD. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity.

Schedule/Location/Pay
  • Full-time, on-site opportunity in Baltimore
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Salary Range: $95,000-$105,000 annually
Position Summary

Our Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for overseeing all agency HR functions and operations in conjunction with Nexus home office policy, federal and state laws and generally accepted principles and practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Human Resources Leadership:
    Aligns day-to-day HR initiatives with Nexus HR home office goals; works under strategic direction from the Executive Director.
  • Collaborates with agency operations leadership including other HR leaders, Finance and Accounting, IT.
  • Coaches agency leaders in employee feedback and development; equips leaders to attract, engage, develop, and retain talent.
  • Encourages employee engagement, sets performance expectations, and provides constructive coaching feedback.
  • Collaborates to implement HR best practices that foster synergy, standardization, and efficiency.
Agency HR Consultation, Continuity & Best Practices
  • Analyzes HR data and develops action-oriented plans for improved operational success.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment law including EEO, FLSA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA Privacy, OSHA, diversity, and harassment.
  • Ensures HR work complies with legal/regulatory standards (personnel records, trainings, postings, interviewing, onboarding).
  • Advises leaders on employee performance, policy violations, corrective actions, attendance, and compensation.
Performance Management, Employee Engagement & Employee Relations
  • Mitigates risk by coordinating with the Regional HR Director on employee investigations and misconduct resolutions.
  • Maintains open-door policy; addresses inquiries and concerns and escalates as needed.
  • Supports performance evaluations and ensures fair and equitable ratings.
  • Leads by example and adheres to Nexus policies.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Collaborates to ensure the compensation program complies with policy and budget.
  • Directs pay adjustments and supports transfers and promotions with home office guidance.
  • Oversees benefits administration and open enrollment; answers employee questions.
  • Keeps informed of benefit offerings and directs questions to providers.
Agency Recruiting, Staffing and Affirmative Action
  • Partners with agency leaders to identify talent strengths and gaps.
  • Supports growth, development, and promotion of high-performing employees.
  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to post and backfill positions; ensures compliant interviewing processes per EEO guidelines.
Requirements Required Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources Manager experience
  • Valid Driver’s license required; must meet state and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience leading and developing HR employees
  • 2+ years’ experience with labor relations
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders in a non-profit environment
  • Union experience strongly preferred
