Position Summary:
Under the direction of Chief People Officer, the HR Generalist supports the HR department and employees by providing a wide range of human resources services, including but not limited to employee relations, training, onboarding, leave administration, benefits, and recruitment. This position the tactical support including policies, procedures, onboarding processes, employee relations, benefits administration, reporting and ongoing initiatives to support the growth and planning of the organization.
Additional responsibilities include supporting policy and procedure reviews, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and handling special projects. The HR Generalist will also uphold HR policies and procedures and manage the employee termination process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a high level of competence, professionalism, and confidentiality, ensuring that information is communicated accurately, timely, and appropriately
- Assist with Human Resources communications and responds to questions regarding policies, procedures, timekeeping systems, accruals, and benefits
- Assist leaders on employee relation issues including but not limited to: leave administration, employee relations, employee discipline, performance improvement plans, grievances, policy violations and termination meeting and educate leaders on policy interpretation and execution
- Assist and support talent acquisition and other recruitment activities including planning, organizing and attending career fairs
- Assist with Benefits Administration- healthcare, life insurance, etc.
- Lead benefit orientations and assist with open enrollment. Support payroll in benefits billing and ensure proper enrollments. Process documentation for FMLA
- Successfully assist with and/or lead HR related projects including those involving a high degree of complexity, confidentiality and organizational impact
- Assist and provide support for all onboarding activities for assigned facilities to include reference checks, background checks, facilitating offer letters, employee file set up and maintenance, and onboarding, to ensure the organization is adding and retaining the best, most elite group of talented individuals who are also the right cultural fit
- Participates in monthly and annual benefit enrollment meetings, prepare documentation, notifying participants, and coordinating enrollments with Insurance Broker / Carriers
- Assists with the annual open enrollment process. Be available to staff as subject matter expert for all PEC benefit plans
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Assist with investigations and documentation of formal complaints and assists Managers with corrective actions & PIPs
- Assist with all administrative aspects of the leave of absence process to include ensuring all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review, tracking hours used/taken, sending timely notifications of leave approvals or denials and employee files are maintained
- Assist with compliance reporting and audits
- Manage annual harassment training & create employee training plans as needed
- Assist management to develop and maintain job descriptions
- Attends seminars, active participation in professional societies; reads trade publications to stay current with HR related laws and activities
- Periodic travel to remote offices, scheduled career fairs, and other trips as required
- Ensure employee personnel files are maintained in compliance with applicable legal, state certification and licensing requirements
- Travel periodically, but not on a regular or monthly basis, to remote offices, scheduled career fairs, conferences, and other trips as required or assigned
